Important milestone reached with NO RAO of Russia
Andra and NO RAO signed a joint activity report
An important milestone was reached on June 17, 2019 in Andra’s cooperation with NO RAO, Russian radioactive disposal operator: Pierre-Marie Abadie and Igor Igin, the CEO of the Russian counterpart have signed a joint report on common activities carried out in 2018 and 2019.
Among these: in April 2019, a visit by Andra’s Industrial Director and the elected officials of the Aube district of the first Russian disposal facility for LILW in Novouralsk and the signature of the cooperation agreement between the mayors or the French municipalities situated near Andra’s facilities and mayors of Russian “closed” towns hosting nuclear facilities; in June 2019 – a visit of Andra’s facilities by Russian mayors – participants of the newly launched cooperation. In addition, as agreed in the Roadmap for 2019, two training sessions were held on Andra’s premises for NO RWM specialists – the first on financing mechanisms and accounting principles, and the second - on communication strategies and creation of public information buildings.
The Joint Report detailing these achieved and future planned activities, was then sent to the General Administrator of the CEA, Mr. François Jacq, and the Director General of Rosatom, Mr. Alexey Likhachev.
