Launch of the public debate on the National Plan for the Management of Radioactive Materials and Waste

For the first time, a public debate  is organized prior to the preparation of the 5th edition of the National Plan for the Management of Radioactive Materials and Waste (PNGMDR). This debate, organized by the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP), an independent institution, is launched on April 17 and will run until September 25, 2019. It is an opportunity for all citizens to get information and directly ask questions to the main radioactive waste and materials sector,  and to position themselves on subjects for which decisions remain to be taken.

The management of radioactive materials and waste (PNGMDR)

Every three years, the Government and the ASN draw up a national plan for the management of radioactive materials and waste (PNGMDR). This management tool takes stock of the existing management methods in France for radioactive materials and waste, identifies the foreseeable needs of storage or disposal capacities and facilities, and defines the strategic orientations.
