Lydie Evrad, CEO of Andra, awarded the WiN France Prize
Since 2009, the Institut de France, the Academy of Science, Science & Teching, WiN France and WiN Global have organised the Fem’Energia ceremony, which celebrates women working in the nuclear sector and encourages new generations to follow in their footsteps. At this year’s event, Lydie Evard, CEO of Andra, received the WiN France 2025 Prize: a major distinction that acknowledges an exceptional career, a strong international commitment and a leadership that continues to inspire the entire nuclear community.
During the ceremony, Andréa Bachrata, Honorary President of WiN France, together with Dominique Mouillot, President of WiN Global and founding member of the Fem’Energia Award, retraced Lydie Evrard’s outstanding professional path marked by high technical standards, a deeply rooted sense of public service, and a decisive contribution to international nuclear safety.
Andréa Bachrata notably recalled Lydie Evrard’s intervention on the Zaporizhzhia site, in the heart of a conflict zone in Ukraine: “being there, on the ground, to help ensure the safety of a nuclear facility in such circumstances is a powerful gesture, one that reflects both courage and a profound sense of responsibility”.
Since taking office as CEO of Andra, Lydie Evrard has led several major projects for the sector, including Cigéo, while strengthening dialogue with local communities and stakeholders. These commitments were particularly praised by the WiN France community. Upon receiving the award, she expressed her gratitude and emphasized the significance of this recognition: an encouragement for all women in the nuclear field to dare, to take their place, and to aim for the highest levels of responsibility.
