The “Fondation pour l’innovation politique” (Fondapol) is a French think tank that has been contributing to pluralist thought and a renewal of public debate since its founding in 2004. We believe our democracy must increasingly rely on individual responsibility rather than government control. We are therefore determined to promote freedom in every area of public life.
As a platform for expertise deliberation and debate, the Fondation strives to describe, anticipate and understand the constant evolution of French and European societies. The ageing population and increasing weight given to environmental issues and globalization are but a few of the phenomena at work, hastening the emergence of a new world. The study of such transformations and their impact on our political lives is the core focus of the Fondation’s endeavors.
Our work would miss its purpose if it were limited to observation. In order to play an active role in the intellectual debate, the Fondation—unlike a university research centre — strives to formulate innovative proposals and bring them to the attention of French and European leaders, from both the economic and political world.
